One Foot In The Clouds Aotearoa

What We Do

One Foot In The Clouds is a charitable trust incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act. We provide educational support to schools and community groups using aviation as a theme for students to acquire theoretical and technical skills.

Our sessions are practical and hands-on. Students build and fly radio control aircraft, work on real engineering challenges, and get direct exposure to the aviation and aerospace industries.

We originated in Auckland and work with schools, community groups, and university clubs across New Zealand.

How We Operate

  • Volunteer-led

Our sessions are run by volunteers — people with backgrounds in aviation, engineering, and education who give their time to make this happen.

  • School partnerships

We work directly with schools — using their workshops, fitting around their timetables, and connecting with teachers who want to bring aviation into their classrooms.

  • Industry connections

We work with industry partners like NZAero to give students real exposure to the aviation sector — not just theory, but actual aircraft and actual professionals.

  • Registered charitable trust

We're incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act and governed by a volunteer committee. We rely on donations, sponsorship, and community support to keep our programmes running.
